Here is a list of the worlds normally loaded on the server.

PlotLand - You start here. You can claim a plot for yourself and build whatever you like!

Donors - This world is survival, but build oriented, and restricted to donor ranks.

Free to Play (f2p) - This world is survival, but build oriented.

Legacy - This is the world save from our beta server.

Skyland - An RPG world. This world gets reset every night, so everyone can enjoy it, but your location does not get reset. This way you can pick up where you left off!1

Adventure - This is were we build our adventure maps, you can warp here to see our progress on the map for the coming weekend.

Netherlands - A violent, Hot, Hellish place.

Hello again

I was feeling nostalgic earlier this week (it was the official 3 year anniversary of when I took the server down) so I decided to load up the saved and poke around. This made me sad, and happy too. We have so many awesome things on this wonderful server. I got inspired to put the server back up so that I could explore it even more. I loved that, so I got inspired to bring the server back up completely. So the Phoenix Gaming Syndicate MineCraft Server is living up to its name, I am bringing it back to life. Here is what I've done so far this week.

  • Restored all backups of the server.
  • Fixed old neglected errors.
  • Combined the Legacy (Alpha/Beta) game world into the server. (bringing the total number of worlds up to 8)
  • Improved the overall experience for new players
  • Updated the texture pack to comply with modern MineCraft.
  • Wrote a faster and more stable launcher script.
  • Wrote a faster and more stable backup/restore script.
I will be posting the texture pack for download soon. The texture pack is now available for download.


Now as for the version of minecraft... I'm probably not going to update it past 1.6.4. I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not really big on a lot of the changes Mojang/Microsoft made to the game after that. Also I love having addons and mods installed on the server. This server has so much functionality and additional types of gameplay. Not to mention its virtually impossible to be griefed on the PGS MineCraft Server. Final Shutdown

The PGS Mine Craft server, was shut down for the last time ever today. The server will not be coming back up. The space is going to be used for a new and better use of server processing power.

We had a lot of great times. And everything was backed up. All the different worlds and creations and everything is saved and in a safe place. Its been fun, and I've been honored to be your administrator and operator. Until next time, Stay blocky everyone.

Minecraft 1.5 released!

Version 1.5 of Minecraft has been released, which added many more features and fixed more bugs. However, this of course means that the PGS MC server will be down or be unstable for the next few days.

Our server runs on the CraftBukkit API, which means we are at the mercy of the Bukkit Development Team to get a new working 1.5 build of CraftBukkit pushed out to the public. Bukkit Dev always does everything they can as fast as possible while still upholding the highest standard of quality, so no worries there. It will take them a few days to get even a development build off the ground, then all the plug-ins have to be updated before they will work.

It will be at least a week yet.  If not longer.  This is why patches are such a pain in my Ass now haha.  I just yesterday got all the plug'ins for 1.4.7 to work right.  Now I can begin again.

And yes I know how much that sucks, I've been doing this dance for 3 years now. I however will be taking this opportunity to do some performance optimizations to the server and get that all nice and clean, So that way when we are back up and running we will be running well. I'll also be working on updating the PGS Creative texture pack. See you all very soon. -Pano-

Other Projects

Sorry I havent been posting here as often or been on the server as much lately. I've started working on another project, the "Super Pantendo", and thats been fairly involving. Also there have been some personal issue's that popped up recently which have also been a bit time consuming/stressful.

In other news, I'm looking into and developing a PGS Terraria server to run along side our MineCraft server! Possibly new details involving that to come!
